INTERNSHIP!
Through our network of supporters and her perseverance, Dyquashia secured a summer internship at Rocky Mount Rehabilitation Center! A Social Work major at UNC-Pembroke, Dyquashia worked alongside the facility's Social Worker and gained valuable field experience that will help her compete in today's global workforce after college!
Dyquashia's work ethic and eagerness to learn really impressed all of those that she worked with at Rocky Mount Rehab and we can't wait to see what awesome things are next!
Keep it up Dyquashia!
PAYING IT FORWARD!
"In 2014, I was one of the recipients of the BAC Scholarship Fund. Ever since I was so fortunate to receive help as I went off to attend the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, I have began paying it forward myself. I have been volunteering my time in the county I attend school as a Guardian ad Litem and in my community as a leader in a Girls Empowerment Program where I assist instilling self-confidence, good moral and ethical character, and much more into 7th and 8th grade females. (Below, you will find a picture of me with them providing step lessons). I also volunteer as a tutor to 5th graders at the same middle school. Furthermore, one can also find me serving on my council's executive board as VP. Today, I challenge you to pay it forward. Join me as we assist in changing lives in 2016 [and beyond]!"
