SCHOLAR UPDATES
More from 2018 BAC Scholar, Anna Shaye Thompson
Back to the Old North State
While interning at the YMCA after her freshman year, Anna Shaye became interested in Recreational Therapy as she worked with children and teenagers throughout the summer. Witnessing so many children (some of whom had difficult home lives) improve their self-confidence through activities such as arts & crafts, sports and recreational swimming has led to a change in course of study from Early Childhood Education to Recreational Therapy.
To put herself in better position for a career in Recreational Therapy, Anna Shaye has transferred to East Carolina University which is known for its reputable health fields programs.
Outside of the classroom, she still makes time for soccer and has even joined her schools Club Team!
We know she will continue do great!
Class of 2022

Anna Shaye graduated with Honors, plans to attend graduate school and has accepted a summer internship with UNC Healthcare working in their Inpatient Rehabilitation department.
Congratulations Anna Shaye!
