SCHOLAR UPDATES

"... It truly makes a difference."

More from 2015 BAC Scholar, Kristina Britt

Junior Year

"Junior year at NC State has been great!

I am currently taking a course in Livestock Merchandising which has me in the Equine Unit, helping prepare yearlings for the upcoming sale in April. It's a great experience.

Outside of the classroom, I am an officer for Alpha Zeta, an agricultural honors fraternity on campus and I am also volunteering with Project YES where I help children of military families overcome challenges related to deployment.

Coming up, I am hoping to land an internship with the Developing Future NC Farmers Program which will put me to work on a dairy farm in North Carolina this summer. I'll keep you posted!

I truly am thankful for all of those who donate to make the BAC Scholarship Fund possible. It truly makes a difference.

-Kristina

Senior Year

Kristina has had a super strong start to senior year and has proven her leadership ability as an officer of Alpha Zeta!

Kristina organized the group's 3-day trip to the mountains to learn about Western North Carolina agriculture. Over the weekend, Kristina led the group on a tour of 6 farms where they learned about environmentally sustainable processes, small grain production, beef cattle production, specialty crops (i.e Christmas trees) and soil & water conservation.

Some students even got to mingle with the cattle herd on one of the farms.

Kristina was recognized for her leadership in this effort and we at the BAC Scholarship Fund couldn't be more proud!

Finishing up!

Kristina is wrapping up her senior year at NC State and has accepted a full-time job after graduation at as a Sow Management Trainee!

Before she goes off into the "real world", Kristina will be going to Ireland in May for and Agricultural Study Abroad program and Ecuador for a mission trip.

Congratulations to Kristina on what is shaping up to be a super strong finish!

Graduation!

Seems like just yesterday Kristina was receiving a BAC Scholarship!

In the blink of an eye, four years have passed and she is now an official graduate of NC State University!

Kristina will definitely enter into her career as the most passionate young professional in her field and there's no doubt that she will leave a mark wherever she goes.

Congratulations on completing this chapter, Kristina!
